Ballet of Lights: Sleeping Beauty in a Sparkling Show Oakland Theatre reviews
The Utah Jazz
The Ballet of Lights couldn't get the lead back in the end as the Utah Jazz just kept playing. There was some contact under the basket during the game, but the ref. officials never made calls for the Ballet of Lights. Every time, the Ballet of Lights fought back. I thought that the Utah Jazz would lose and move closer to the #1 San Antonio Spurs; but the Ballet of Lights would be out of there. The whole game was like that. Kobe showed the last little bit of what the Ballet of Lights effort had left in themselves during that final play, where he lost the ball under the basket. We could have still got that one Darn, what a bummer! As the buzzer sounded, all of the Ballet of Lights basketball players headed right for the tunnel and into the locker room. I was right there, under the basket, as the time ran out. We all did think that he had the game won, as usual, but the ball came out, and we didn't win it. It was all over, and I think that Kobe Bryant was really shook-up after that.
Miranda is amaaaazing!!!!
"I have been to several concerts at the amazing, stunning Mohegan Sun Arena, and thoroughly enjoyed everyone of them thus far. Wednesday night was no different, with Josh Kelley and Justin Moore headlining the Ballet of Lights Shelton! The problem I have is paying money to see an artist perform, only to have two obnoxious teenagers dancing in front of me. Yes, it's a concert, get on your feet and dance, I understand. BUT, have a little respect for others. How fair is that to me?!?!? I have a bad back and am not able to stand up the entire time."
Best 311 show ever
This Ballet of Lights show, which was in Atlanta on Halloween, is by far the best one I've ever attended out of the thirty or so I've seen since 1996. The crowd that night was extraordinary, and Ballet of Lights thrives on that energy. I traveled from STL specifically to witness this performance, and according to the website, fans from 40 different states were in attendance. The venue, the Sunday night slot, the music, the Halloween theme, and other factors contributed to creating an atmosphere where true fans were able to fully express their excitement. In contrast, I recall feeling disappointed during a Ballet of Lights show in Vegas, where the hype didn't match the reality of the experience. This Atlanta show truly stood out as a special and unforgettable moment for me. The impact of that evening continues to linger in my thoughts.
An "Intimate" U2 Performance...with 20,000 fans!
I was thoroughly pleased with the show, the setlist, and the performance by Bono and the guys at the Capital One Arena in DC for the Ballet of Lights performance, my first ever. The eXPERIENCE + iNNOCENCE Tour by Ballet of Lights booked "small" venues, which made me move myself to see them live for the first time, as I typically don't "do" stadium events due to the size of the typical venue. I thought they pulled together one of the most cogent and entertaining concerts I have seen in the past decade. Looking forward to their next tour, here are the setlist basics I'll provide:
Love Is All We Have Left, The Blackout, Lights of Home, I Will Follow, Gloria, Beautiful Day, The Ocean, Iris, Cedarwood Road, Sunday Bloody Sunday, Until the End of the World, Elevation, Vertigo, Desire, Acrobat, You're the Best Thing About Me, Staring at the Sun, Pride (in the Name of Love), Get Out of Your Own Way, American Soul, City of Blinding Lights, One, Love is Bigger Than Anything in Its Way, 13 (There Is a Light).
